Students should have already learnt Spreadsheets with OpenOffice Calc and be able to recall basic operations.

Exercise:1
Create a new spreadsheet in which you have to create a mark list of a class, then find total, pass/fail, rank (using formula), and change the row colour to red for those who got a fail mark. Also find the overall percentage for each student. Copy the modified mark sheet to another computer using a pendrive.
Teachers should encourage the students to recollect all the technical names. Eg: Row, column, cell, name box, formula bar etc.
Recall basic formulas for 4 ops, sum, average, max, min etc.
Recall all the things the students learnt last year with Spreadsheets. Some of the things that are not included in this lesson should also be recalled like insert/delete row/column.
In addition to recalling how Spreadsheets work, also recall where they can be used: Storing marksheets, timetable, accounts etc.
